I have just been handed a flyer for the Petticoat Lane Monster Garage Sale. Petticoat Lane is a costume hire shop so expect piles of amazing fabrics, interesting haberdashery as well as vintage and retro clothing and ex-hire costumes.
The garage sale is on Sunday 5th of September, 11 – 2 pm at 16 Harewood Road, Papanui (Christchurch, New Zealand!).
Buy something handmade on felt.co.nz during the month of August and you can go in the draw to win one of 20 copies of Peppermint magazine! Woohoo!
We moved in to our new house last spring, just as the optimum planting time hit. So in a mad rush of unpacking and other general new-house tasks we only just managed to make a couple of vege gardens and plant a few plantlets.
And here are some of pumpkins we grew.
These beautiful monsters of the cucurbit family are Musquee de Provence from the fantastic Kings Seeds.
I’m crazy busy sewing and printing and glueing and folding and stitching and threading and pressing and ironing for A Craft Affair this weekend – from 11 am till 3 pm this Sunday at Our City on Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch. See you there!
I found the recipe here and it is so very simple and so very yum that I just had to share:
Step one: Peel a couple of bananas
Step two: Cut the bananas in to a few slices
Step three: Put them in to a container in the freezer
Step four: Freeze until solid (I waited until the next day)
Step five: Put the frozen banana pieces into your blender and blend ’til the bananas are the texture of ice cream
And then eat.
